We build our insect farms relying on the principles of sustainability. In our farms, we combine vertical farming, circular economy and traceability.

The pilot plant has been operating in Vilnius, Lithuania, since May ‘22. The primary purpose of the pilot facility is to replicate promising results from the lab on a larger scale and validate product assumptions. It covers two main parts – insect breeding & rearing and insect processing. Since we already produce insect-derived ingredients at the pilot plant, we can supply products and samples to our clients. Our currently developed products, such as whole insect powder and whole dried insects, can already be put on the market due to acquired Novel food approval and State Food and Veterinary Service approval for insect-derived ingredients production.

The industrial-scale facility

The launching of the industrial-scale plant in Marijampole, Lithuania, is scheduled for the beginning of 2025. Production capacity at the first stage is estimated to reach 10k to 15k tons of insect-derived ingredients annually. A well-known construction company in Northern Europe, YIT Lietuva, will construct our 23 m high vertical plant with an area of 10 000 m2. The turn-key technology solutions will be developed and provided by the leading technology provider Bühler Group. The fully automated plant is designed to allow vertical business integration, saving arable land. Renewable energy solutions will also be applied to reduce the environmental impact and save limited resources
